Program Notes
Metamorphosis is a work for mixed ensemble: Movement I: Wandering and Movement II: Searching. The first movement showcases instability in both harmony and rhythm and portrays the wandering of oneself. The second movement is more stable and settles into a waltz-like feel in 6/8. Compared to the first movement, this portrays the searching of oneself as when we finally gain a spark of hope and something to look for, and we begin searching and not wandering.
