Lonely Flower

This piece was written during my second year as a composition student. The soul inspiration of this piece stems from my love of flowers and how sometimes they can seem lonely. By taking a small motivic fragment, I wanted to portray the growth of a single flower until it bloomed to its beauty by slowly developing that motive into longer phrases and intricate harmony. By the end of the piece, the flower has meaning which stands proudly as it has purpose.
